"User-friendly presentation of statistics" is aimed at helping statistics agencies in developing and transition countries to devise strategies and guidelines for the dissemination of statistics.The global demand for official statistics is growing steadily. To this end, Statistics Norway has compiled a guide to dissemination, together with the international organisation PARIS21.
The handbook covers various aspects of statistics dissemination in relation to problems that can arise in the practical work. Topics covered include how tables and graphs can be made as understandable and correct as possible, how to maintain good media relations and how statistics agencies can use the Internet as a dissemination channel. Good and bad examples from statistics agencies throughout the world are given.
